Joint Research Centre Information Day

In collaboration with Icelandic Centre for Research, Reykjavík

The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNIS) are jointly organising an information event with scientific and technical presentations.

The JRC is the scientific and technical arm of the European Commission, the role of which is to provide scientific and technical support to the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of EU policies. The JRC is also promoting the collaboration with the countries associated to the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development, including Iceland, in order to share their high level of scientific and technological competences, minimise duplications and develop critical mass in areas of common interest.

The main objective of the event is to present some examples of the customer-driven scientific and technical support that the JRC provides against major European policy challenges, encourage the dialogue, identify potential partnerships and pave the way for further scientific and technical collaboration. The possibilities for participation of Icelandic high level scientists in the JRC advanced training courses, joint research projects, as well as future job opportunities will also be presented.
