Information Day of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC)

Stockholm 8 November 2007

Research cooperation between the Joint Research Centre and Sweden

The JRC

The mission of the Joint Research Centre is to provide customer-driven scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of European Union policies. As a service of the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre functions as a reference centre of science and technology for the Union. Close to the policy-making process, it serves the common interest of the Member States, while being independent of special interests, whether private or national.

Collaboration between JRC and the Swedish scientific community is growing steadily and today the JRC is working together with more than 50 Swedish-based research organisations.

Information Day

At the Information Day participants from the scientific, political and corporate have discussed the cooperation between the JRC and Swedish research organisations, centred on three main themes: Environment and Sustainability, Nuclear Waste Management and Energy, and ICT.
