Knowledge Management, Training and Education in Reactor Design and Operation
Institute for Energy
This action will contribute to maintaining, consolidating and transferring the knowledge in nuclear technology and design and also addresses related organisational aspects that can foster these processes. To underpin this work this action will promote and contribute to the creation and dissemination of comprehensive sources of reliable nuclear information, such as consolidated EUR reports, a publicly accessible web-portal, etc. Additionally, the consolidation workshops are defining the missing and open issues per research field. This will be of great interest for research funding institutions. High-level training for young students (PhD, Masters and trainee) and researchers at post- doctoral level in the nuclear field will be included. In this respect, the JRC is drafting presently a MoU with the European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN).
A more organisational future aspect of the action on nuclear knowledge preservation is the correct structuring of the consolidated knowledge from the beginning. Therefore, an extensive planning will be defined and in relation to this the specific areas covered by this action should be indicated.
The IE web-portal ODIN will contribute to manage and maintain the reference data, EUR and State-of-the-Art reports, which are progressively consolidated in specific workshops.
