Foresight and knowledge based governance responses to climate change
The JRC Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) is a partner in the organisation of the ninth edition of the Bled Forum on Europe, a scientific event involving NGO's, governmental bodies, research institutions and the business sector. This year's edition intends to identify some of the key challenges posed by climate change and to put forward internationally coordinated responses to the identified challenges.
At the event, IPTS has presented the conclusions gathered by the JRC Reference Report "Global Climate Policy Scenarios for 2030 and beyond".
In addition, JRC IPTS has organised one of the parallel events: the training seminar "Foresight and Research Priorities Setting in South Eastern Europe with Special Consideration of Climate Change". The objective of this seminar is to support the take-off, design, development and use of foresight activities in support to policy-making within the South-Eastern European countries (especially Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo) and the promotion of international scientific cooperation and regional networking of experts.
The FORLEARN guide, developed by the IPTS, will provide the methodological framework.
