ICT4EE: High Level Event on ICT for Energy Efficiency
The European Commission is aiming to create a comprehensive policy framework on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for energy efficiency. The conference ICT4EE, organised by the Commision in cooperation with the Czech Presidency of the EU and taking place in Brussels from 19 - 20 March, aims to accord visibility to the potential of ICTs in enabling energy efficiency across the economy. In particular it will show how ICT-based innovations may provide some of the potentially most cost-effective means to achieve the EU's 2020 energy and climate targets.
The JRC plays a significant role in supporting energy efficiency policies, through the development of voluntary energy efficiency standards (Codes of Conduct - CoC) for ICT equipment manufacturers and service providers. The JRC Institute for Energy (IE) is presenting its activities at this event.
