TANGO Second User Forum
Innovative satellite telecommunication solutions are crucial in several domains, such as risk and crisis management, maritime services, security and humanitarian aid.
On 28-29 April, the JRC Institute for Protection and the Security of the Citizen (IPSC) is hosting the TANGO Second User Forum.
TANGO (Telecommunications Advanced Networks for GMES Operations) is a research project financed under the 6th Framework Programme that focuses on the use of satellite telecommunication solutions to serve the needs of the community of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) initiative: improved and faster data collection, fast data dissemination, provision of GMES data products down to the end-users on-the-field and early warning systems.
18 months have passed since the project kicked-off: New, innovative telecommunication solutions have been identified and the expected benefits will be demonstrated in thematic scenarios run by TANGO partners in the coming year. The TANGO annual forum will provide GMES service providers and GMES stakeholders with an overview of satellite telecommunication solutions being developed. Furthermore the demonstration scenarios will be discussed in details, giving the GMES service providers outside of the TANGO consortium the opportunity to provide their feedback and suggestions of improvements.
