|Project dates||01/01/2011 - 30/06/2012|
|Total budget||€157 291.20|
|Name of the entity managing the project||Lithuanian Red Cross Society|
Non-EU migrants in Lithuania now have easier access to public and private services following the creation of a consultation centre. The centre offers non-EU migrants advice and information, such as social support, legal advice, information afternoons, and a psycho-cultural course entitled “The path to understanding yourself and mutual understanding of the world".
To facilitate integration into Lithuanian culture, the centre also provides Lithuanian language training and lessons on the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania and on general cultural knowledge.
The Red Cross is expecting 140 non-EU migrants to benefit from the centre’s services. The centre helps the non-EU migrants with daily issues, such as filling in documents, better communicating with employers and various institutions, and obtaining information on taxes, health protection and education. An interesting element of the consultation centre is the opportunity for non-EU migrants to meet each other, exchange individual experiences about life in Lithuania, and support each other in their integration efforts.
