Project Description

The project intends to enhance the existing partnership between Finnish and Estonian law enforcement and judicial authorities by means of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs). Establishing the best and most effective use of JITs will improve the exchange of knowledge between the two countries.

Benefits and results

The aim is to carry out and contribute to as many criminal investigations involving Finland and Estonia as possible during the two-year project – hopefully between three and five.

Project activities also include: facilitating the establishment of JITs through legal aid and practical assistance in financial calculations; collecting the best practices and feedback for a JIT manual; and organising training between Finnish and Estonian judicial authorities to ensure JITs are put to best possible use.
