Using workshops and an information campaign, UNAF raised awareness of female genital mutilation and worked to prevent its practice, particularly within sub-Saharan immigrant communities.
This joint project between Spain and Bolivia enabled the return and reintegration of 14 Bolivian immigrants, the vast majority of whom are now running businesses that the project helped them to establish.
Some 24 biometric identification systems were purchased and 28 kiosks installed in Spanish consulates in North Africa, allowing for fingerprints and facial identification to be carried out with the privacy required by Muslim culture.
