My name is Marek. I am an economist from
Poland and I have been working for the European
Commission in Brussels since 2003.
Like many Europeans, I enjoy shopping for
bargains. And with the European Union now
covering 25 countries there has never been more
choice of places for consumers to look for them
within the EU.
Are you confident your rights will be
protected if you shop across borders, though?
Is it as safe to shop from a website in another
EU country as it is to shop from your local
supermarket? My job is to help make sure that
it is. I work to ensure there is proper
enforcement
of consumer protection laws by EU
countries.
