The aim of this document is to draw concrete conclusions from the initial analysis in terms of a common vision, main challenges, as well as future actions
and policy orientations to be addressed by DG SANCO in the near future.
This paper takes into account several critical changes in the context that have arisen in the last year and that have helped better target our vision of the future
of health and consumer policies. At the same time, this new paper contains the conclusions of additional analysis of areas particularly relevant to DG SANCO (consumer
behaviour, sustainability, prioritisation of health policies) which have greatly contributed to its more operational nature.
This new paper is to be discussed with our stakeholders and the general public during the conference 'Delivering for Tomorrow's European Consumers'
on 29-30 October in Brussels whereby the analysis and action areas identified in the paper will serve as the basis and inspiration for the discussions.
The public debate will contribute to validate a common vision for DG SANCO and its stakeholders in the area of the European health and
consumer policy and will hopefully bring added value to the overall reflection on the future within the European Commission.
