Conference discusses ways to minimise impact of pandemic influenza
In order to minimise the negative impact of the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza, close coordination at global level of all affected sectors is necessary. To promote this coordination, the Commissioner for Health, Androulla Vassiliou, together with Swedish Minister for Elderly Care and Public Health, Maria Larsson, will open a conference entitled "Influenza at the interface between humans and animals" on Friday 30 October in the Charlemagne building in Brussels.
The conference will also aim to tackle issues in relation to risk assessment and research, and influenza strategies at the human-animal interface.
