REGISTRATION STILL OPEN for 1st International Conference on Risk Assessment "Global Risk Assessment Dialogue", 13-14 November 2008, Brussels
Mobile telephones, personal music players and products using nanotechnologies are just a few examples of recent innovations with questions on potential health risks.
How to ensure that new technologies and products are safe for health and the environment?
On 13 and 14 November 2008, the European Commission Directorate-General for Health and Consumers will aim to address this question by organising the first International Conference on Risk Assessment "Global Risk Assessment Dialogue". The conference will be held, at Crowne Plaza Brussels City Centre Hotel, Brussels, Belgium.
The Conference will be opened by Commissioner for Health, Ms Androulla Vassiliou.
The aim of this event is to bring together experts in risk assessment including scientists, practitioners, representatives of EU and international risk assessment bodies, to facilitate a global dialogue on risk assessment.
This two day conference marks the beginning of a regular, international bi-annual conference on risk assessment.
The fist day will be dedicated to presentations by experts and the second day will be organised in break-out sessions, which will focus on the four themes: terminology, carcinogens, exposure assessment and emerging risk issues.
