On 21 September 2005, the European Commission appointed Luc Briol as the first Director of the Executive Agency for the Public Health Programme. Mr Briol is currently Head of Unit for programme management in the public health programme of DG Health and Consumer Protection. He will take up his new appointment by the end of the year.
