Press Conference by Commissioner Markos Kyprianou to Launch "HELP"

A press conference will be held by EU Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou to present the new television advertisements of the European Commission's anti-smoking campaign 'HELP - For a life without tobacco'. A few days ahead of World No Tobacco Day (31 May), journalists will be able to view for the first time the three adverts which have been developed as the next phase of the European Commission's anti-smoking campaign, 'HELP'. Commissioner Kyprianou will explain the aim of the adverts and place them in the context of the European Commission's broader tobacco control activities. The Commissioner will also announce the adoption by the European Commission of the picture warnings which Member States can place on cigarette packs, will launch the web site of the HELP campaign and will be happy to take journalists' questions.
