Revision of the Tobacco Products Directive: Commissioner Dalli listens to the views of those concerned

In the run-up to the adoption of the proposal for the revision of the Tobacco Products Directive, Commissioner Dalli will meet with NGOs and the tobacco industry on February 29 and March 7 respectively.

The purpose of these two meetings is primarily to listen to, and take stock of the views and concerns of stakeholders affected by the revision. These meetings are part of a wider consultation process, including a public consultation which yielded an all-time high record of contributions. The data collected are used to conduct the impact assessment for the revision of the Directive.

The minutes of both meetings will be published on the website of the Health and Consumers department of the European Commission at, in the spirit of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).
