Conference to study the impact of Integrated Testing Strategies on the use of animals in regulatory testing
When it comes to animal testing, Integrated Testing Strategies (ITS) are increasingly being applied by industry to meet the need for more science-based, faster throughput and animal-reduction approaches. Authorities and legal risk assessors demonstrate, at the same time, a growing interest in ITS. To emphasize the impact of ITS on the replacement, reduction and refinement (known as 3 Rs) of animal use in regulatory testing, the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA) will dedicate its 2011 Conference on 9 November to ITS. /p>
Authorities, representatives of the industry and the academia, NGOs, the competent services of the European Commission and other stakeholders are invited to share their views on the outcome of the recent EPAA Workshop titled "What makes an ITS fit for regulatory purposes? What are the next steps to promote regulatory acceptance of ITS-generated decisions?"
