Commission approves Greek public financing of a motorway concession

On 16 April the European Commission decided not to raise objections to certain measures adopted by the Greek authorities in support of road infrastructure. The Commission considers that grants for the construction and upgrading of this road infrastructure in Greece do not constitute State aid.

Commissioner Piebalgs underlines the role of nuclear energy in the transition towards a low carbon economy

Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs reiterated the importance of nuclear energy for the reduction of CO2 emissions in a speech at a European Nuclear Assembly conference in Brussels on 15 April. The conference was dedicated to the development of Europe's low carbon economy and organised by Foratom.
