Public Consultations

In this section you will find the newest calls for submissions to public consultations in fields of energy and transport.

Topic of Consultation   Deadline
Biofuels Directive Review and Progress Report   10/07/2006
Revision of Community legislation on the Inland transport of dangerous goods

Revision of the community legislation on the access to the road transport market and on the admission to the occupation of road transport operator

Public consultation on the Green Paper on a European Strategy for Sustainable, Competitive and Secure Energy Policy

The Commission is holding a public consultation until 26 July on a revision of the new approach which is planned for later this year. The new approach is the procedure whereby the Community legislates on essential requirements of protection and safety of products to be put on the market. It is then left up to industry to choose how to meet these minimum requirements. This is frequently done by means of voluntary standards agreed by the Industry in the sector concerned. DG Enterprise is in charge of this dossier, but there are some energy and transport sectors which already make some use of this approach (e.g. energy efficiency, rail ineroperability, marine equipment, transport of dangerous goods (pressurised vessels)) and it may be possible to extend the revised new approach to other sectors where, for example, safety requirements are important.
