Energy & transport international relations

The cooperation between the EU and the countries of the Southern Mediterranean has been developed in the framework of the “Barcelona Process” which was initiated on the occasion of the Euro-Mediterranean Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, held in Barcelona on 27-28 November 1995. The Barcelona process has served so far as a basis for both bilateral and regional cooperation. Since 2004 the Mediterranean Partners are also included in the European Neighbourhood Policy.
