Policy dialogue and agreements with non-EU countries

The European Commission has developed a system of "policy dialogues" with key partner countries and regions around the world. Through this system it aims to highlight areas of European expertise and benefit from other countries' experience in return.

PROGRAMMES

Erasmus Mundus aims to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships and academic cooperation between Europe and the rest of the world.

Cooperation with industrialised countries: Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and the USA.

Jean Monnet promotes European integration as a subject at universities.

Tempus supports cooperation in higher education between the EU and partner countries in neighbouring regions.

Edulink fosters capacity building and regional integration in higher education in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.

Alfa is a cooperation programme between higher education institutions in the EU and Latin America.
