Journalists with no permanent accreditation

Journalists who have a national/international press card:

Please present yourself at the Berlaymont reception desk with the following:

  • For EU-28 citizens or residents, the original EU-28 identity document – For non EU-28 citizens, the original passport;
  • Your original national professional journalist's card or an international press card issued by the International Federation of Journalist.

 

Journalist WITHOUT a national/ international press card:

Please send an email at least 24 hours prior to the event you want to attend to COMM-PRESSROOM-TEAM@ec.europa.eu, attaching:

  • For EU-28 citizens or residents, a scanned copy of your EU-28 identity document – For non EU-28 citizens, a scanned copy of your passport;
  • A scanned copy of a letter by your editor-in-chief or an official email from your head office confirming that they request access for you for that particular day/event

 

In either of the above options, the European Commission reserves the right to refuse granting temporary accreditation if the specified deadlines are not respected or if the documents provided do not correspond to set requirements.
