WILKENS Ann
Chair person of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (NGO)
Ann Wilkens has extensive experience of international relations, situations of conflict and fragility, and of development co-operation. Since 1972, she has held various posts within the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, including head of the Africa and Middle East department. Mrs Wilkens has served as Ambassador from Sweden to Ethiopia, Luxembourg and, more recently, to Pakistan and Afghanistan (2003-2007). In May 2009, she was elected chair person of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (NGO).
