Information for journalists
European Development Days is all about reaching citizens and enhancing their awareness of development issues – and the media is a vital link in this chain. The media corner contains a wealth of useful information for journalists wishing to attend or write about EDD.
Journalists are welcome to cover and/or participate in the European Development Days 2009. Those who wish to attend the EDD will have to make their own travel arrangements and cover their own expenses.

Services for journalists during the EDD event.
Press accreditation
Journalists wishing to attend the European Development Days will need to acquire EDD press accreditation. Registration for this will begin in the summer of 2009. Requests for accreditation will be denied if applicants cannot establish they are professional journalists, or if the applications are incomplete.
Visa requirements
Journalists who are not citizens or permanent residents of the European Union are reminded that they will need to present a valid visa to immigration officials upon entering the EU. Before departure, participants are requested to obtain entry visas from consular missions in their countries.
On-line and on-site resources
During the event, a wealth of resources will be available to journalists on this website and at the venue itself. Daily summaries, speeches, videos, photos, audio material, and speakers’ biographies can be downloaded for free from this media corner.
On-site, journalists will have access to a fully equipped audio-visual studio, satellite broadcasting facilities, internet access, and more. Audio recordings of conference proceedings will be available within an hour, both here on the website and at the venue.
Our press officers will be happy to help journalists arrange interviews with high-profile figures attending the European Development Days attendees and participants.
