When public authorities fail to respect the rights and obligations under environmental laws, the public can hold them to account.
In its monthly package of infringement decisions, the European Commission is pursuing legal action against Member States for failing to comply with their obligations under EU law. These decisions, covering various sectors and EU policy areas, aim to ensure proper application of EU law for the benefit of citizens and businesses.
Building a fairer Europe and strengthening its social dimension is a key priority for this Commission.
Making the European Pillar of Social Rights a reality for citizens is a joint responsibility.
The EU has adopted a set of legislation ensuring that passengers have rights when they travel by plane, train, ship and bus. However, when different modes of transport are used one after the other to complete one journey, passengers' rights are not guaranteed for their entire multimodal journey. The European Commission wants to examine options to better protect passengers in the EU when using multimodal transport.
