  • 13.09.2011Launch of the Galileo Children's Drawing Competition

    The child with the best drawing related to space or aeronautics in each EU Member State will have his or her name given to a satellite of the Galileo programme. The first two satellites to be launched on 20 October will bear the names of the winning children from Belgium (Thijs) and Bulgaria (Natalia) where the competition already took place earlier this year. Today, the European Commission has rolled out the competition in the other 25 Member States to give names to the satellites which will be launched until 2019. Children aged 9-11 can participate.

  • 10.05.2011Europe Day celebrated in Cyprus

    The three-day celebration of Europe Day in Cyprus has been successfully concluded. This year's events, which took place in Kato Paphos and the northern part of Nicosia, were dedicated to the European Year of Volunteering 2011. Children's smiles and positive vibes have been transmitted to Cypriots, together with this year's motto: "Volunteer! Make a difference!".
