Synergies with education

In the framework of the 2008-2010 Council Work plan on culture, a working group on Synergies between education and culture addressed questions like the contents of artistic and cultural education (including transdisciplinarity, heritage education and media literacy), the training of teachers, artists and other culture professionals working in schools; partnerships with the civil society; and the evaluation of the effects of artistic and cultural education.

The Group gathered representatives from the national Ministries for Culture and for Education from all Member States. The group produced a Final Report in June 2010 which contains recommendations addressed to both European and national levels, a compilation of case-studies on which the recommendations are based as well as proposals for future work.
