The European Commission has recently published a staff working document on Design as a driver of user-centred innovation.
This document provides an analysis of the rationale for making design an integral part of European innovation policy. It explores how design can act as a driver and enabler of innovation, complementing more traditional innovation activities such as research
The document concludes that design has the potential to become an integral part of European innovation policy, a building block of a policy model that encourages innovation driven by societal and user needs, and that builds on existing European strengths such as our heritage, creativity and diversity to make Europe more innovative.
Based on this document, the European Commission has launched an online public Consultation in order to shape potential future joint European action in this area.
You have until 26 June to have your voice heard!
