The four winners are from Malta, France, Belgium and Denmark – more details will be revealed only at the award ceremony itself. Three of the winners were selected by an international professional jury featuring professor and photographer Chris Wainwright, film director and screenwriter Radu Mihăileanu, photo journalist Jay Ullal, writer and photographer Zsuzsanna Ardó and photographers Charles Fréger, Ahmet Polat and Arja Hyytiäinen. The fourth winner will receive the Public’s Favourite award and has been chosen by the European public through online voting on the Cultures on my street website.
The four winning and 21 additional short-listed photographs chosen by the jury will also be on display at the Berlaymont building esplanade from 25 September to 31 October. This will be a showcase of the most striking, beautiful and creative visuals that represent the landscape of intercultural dialogue in the EU today. The exhibition will then travel around, bringing visions of intercultural dialogue all over Europe.
