A fully booked conference welcomed over 900 participants from more than 60 countries in Flagey Art Centre in Brussels to celebrate three days of culture 28-30 September.
With a packed programme the participants enjoyed presentations of past and ongoing projects (funded by Culture 2000 and the Culture Programme 2007-2013) and exchanged experience with other cultural operators. They attended the award ceremony of the newly established EU Prize for Literature which honoured European literary excellence together with President Barroso, and they helped take stock of progress in implementing the European Agenda for Culture during the European Culture Forum. Spectacular cultural performances in music and dance were also part of the experience. One of the leading lights of the European classical music scene, viola de gamba maestro, conductor and composer Jordi Savall created a unique musical journey by uniting the talents of the European Union Baroque Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra with his own ensemble, and young dancers from D.A.N.C.E (Dance Apprentice Network aCross Europe) spellbound the audience with three compelling sequences using modern dance to bring to light the rich facets of intercultural dialogue. Don't miss the opportunity to relive the experiences. Watch the video highlights now! Keep tuned for additional updates on the conference here.
