Each year the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards are presented to celebrate excellence and dedication by architects, craftsmen, cultural organisations, volunteers, schools, local communities, heritage owners and media.
Through the power of example the prize stimulates the sharing of best practices and highlights creativity and innovation in the cultural heritage field.
Entries for the 2010 EU prizes in one of the 4 categories (Conservation, Research, Dedicated Service or Education, Training and Awareness Raising) can be submitted to Europa Nostra until 1 October 2009. The selected award winners will receive their award during a ceremony which will be held in June in Istanbul, a 2010 European Capital of Culture.
