This year the Culture Programme helps finance a record high 531 works of fiction to be translated from one European language into another European language. The grants awarded total in excess of € 2.7 million.
At the time of the deadline, 326 applications had been submitted, counting a total of 1.433 works. Serbia submitted most applications (30), followed by Italy (28), Slovenia (26) and Bulgaria (25).
Bulgaria proved the most successful applicant this year with the highest number of selected projects (13), followed by Slovenia (10), Hungary and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (9), and Serbia (8).
