MEDIA@Rotterdam: Everything you always wanted to find out about your audiences
One of the main objectives for the European Commissions' MEDIA strand of the new Creative Europe programme is to significantly strengthen the "demand" for films, i.e. to reach out to new audiences in Europe and beyond. There is a shortage of reliable data on audience preferences and marketing and consumption. What helps films to reach audiences? Is it the story? Is it the way it’s promoted? Is it the distribution model? What is the role of festivals and film literacy initiatives?
Therefore a very ambitious consumer study has been launched recently for the European Commission . This study includes more than 4500 respondents from 10 European countries.
The objective of the afternoon's discussion is to function as a forum for the film industry to provide input to the study and to discuss the data and information needed. Which questions do you want your audience to be asked?
