The 10 fims of the LUX Prize 2013 Official Selection has been unveiled. These are the 10 films chosen by the LUX Prize Selection Panel as showcasing the richness, diversity and excellence of European cinema.

The 10 films of the LUX Prize 2013 Official Selection are as follows (in alphabetical order):
  1. Äta sova dö(Eat Sleep Die), by Gabriela Pichler - Sweden
  2. Grzeli nateli dgeebi(In Bloom), by Nana Ekvtimishvili, Simon Groß - Georgia, Germany, France
  3. Krugovi(Circles), by Srdan Golubovic - Serbia, Germany, France, Slovenia, Croatia
  4. La Grande Bellezza(The Great Beauty), by Paolo Sorrentino - Italy, France
  5. La Plaga(The Plague), by  Neus Ballús - Spain
  6. Miele(Honey), by Valeria Golino - Italy, France
  7. Oh Boy!, by Jan Ole Gerster- Germany
  8. Pevnost(Fortress), by Lukáš Kokeš, Klára Tasovská - Czech Republic
  9. The Broken Circle Breakdown, by Felix van Groeningen - Belgium
  10. The Selfish Giant, by Clio Barnard - United Kingdom

3 films out of the 10 of the Official Selection will run for the Official Competition. These are the films that will be screened in all 28 member states of the European Union and subtitled into 24 official European languages within the framework of the LUX Film Days.
 
The 3 films of the Official Competition will be announced at the Venice Days press conference in Rome on 23 July 2013.
 
The LUX Prize 2013 winner, voted by Members of the European Parliament, will be awarded in December 2013 in Strasbourg. The laureate film will also be made available for the visually and hearing impaired and promoted by the European Parliament.
