'European Film Awards' nominations 2013
The film is listed in no less than five categories; as best film, director and screenplay as well as best actor and actress. The Broken Circle Breakdown is one of many of the nominated films that have received MEDIA support.
Also other films have been nominated in several categories: Paolo Sorrentinio's La Grande Bellezza, Giuseppe Tornatore's The Best Offer, Joe Wright's Anna Karenina and the Palm d'Or winner Blue is the Warmest Colour by Abdellatif Kechiche.
The nominees of the European Film Awards 2013 represent a wide variety of European countries, styles and genres. Awards will be given to best European film, best European comedy, best European director, best European actor and actress, best European screenwriter, best European documentary and best European animated feature film. The film critics' Fipresci Prize is awarded to a film deserving the title Best European Discovery.
Best comedy is a newcomer category of this year. Among the four nominees in this category we'll find Pedro Almodovar's I'm So Exited and Susanne Bier's Love is All You Need.

Three of the six films nominated at best European films have been supported by the MEDIA programme of the European Union as have three of the films representing the best European Director. The films are The Best Offer, The Broken Circle Breakdown and Oh Boy. The directors are François Ozon (In the House), Giuseppe Tornatore (The Best Offer) and Felix van Groeningen (The Brolken Circle Breakdown). All in all around half of the EFA nominees of 2013 have been created and/or distributed with the support from the MEDIA programme.
The nomination was recently announced at the Seville European Film festival. Now the 2.900 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the winners that will be presented at the 26th European Film Awards in Berlin on the 7th of December.
