While some industry professionals will be invited to take part in these screenings, main goal of this activity is to increase the awareness and promotion of European box office films outside their domestic grounds.
6. Spotlight on distributors at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, a pilot project for 2008 enabling to bring a spotlight on the work of 10 independent European distributors.

EFP's promotional event's 2006 (Europe, Argentine, Canada, Corée du Sud, USA)

European Film Promotion (EFP) regroupe 27 organisations visant l´exportation et la promotion de films de 28 pays différents. EFP collabore avec différents festivals et marchés de grande renommée internationale afin d'y promouvoir un programme de films européens très ambitieux et de grande diversité : Berlinale, Locarno, Venise, San Sebastian, Hambourg, Festival de Buenos Aires, Festival de Cannes , Festival International de Karlovy Vary, Festival de Toronto, Festival de Pusan, ainsi que l' American Film Market, l’AFI International Film Market de Los Angeles et les journées Européennes à New York.

Les initiatives de l´EFP consistent surtout à faire connaître les nouveaux talents du cinéma européen et à leur ouvrir les portes sur le marché international. Qu´il s´agisse des "Shooting Stars" lors du Festival de Berlin ou des "Producers on the Move" au Festival de Cannes, EFP attire l´attention internationale de la presse et du public sur le nouveau cinéma européen et sur les jeunes talents.

Depuis 2004 EFP gère une nouvelle initiative financée par le Programme MEDIA Plus: ce projet dénommé Film Sales Support (FSS) consiste à subventionner les agents de vente européens, afin de soutenir leurs activités lors des festivals hors UE.
