Promotion promotional events in 2009

European Film Promotion (EFP) brings together 29 organizations exporting and promoting films from 30 different countries to support 5 different European promotion activities taking place in various places in Europe throughout 2009.
These activities are:
1. Shooting stars
(promotion of Europe new acting talents) at Berlin IFF (Germany);
2. Touring Shooting Stars Film Programme at selected Festivals and events;
3. Producers on the Move at the Cannes IFF (France) in May with selected
promising European producers from different European countries;
4. "Variety Critics' Choice: Europe Now" at the Karlovy Vary IFF (Czech
Republic) in July, where selected European films and their talents will be
presented in a sub-section of the Festival;
6. Spotlight on distributors at the San Sebastian International Film Festival,
new since 2008 enabling to bring a spotlight on the work of selected independent
European distributors.

Distribution Workshops 2009 – Europa Distribution – Annecy, Paris (France) & Estoril (Portugal)
These workshops take the form of case studies on European films which have not been released in Europe and will also include discussion forums on issues of the distribution business. European box-office hits in 3 different European cities. While some industry
professionals will be invited to take part in these screenings, main goal of
this activity is to increase the awareness and promotion of European box office
films outside their domestic grounds.
6. Spotlight on distributors at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, a
pilot project for 2008 enabling to bring a spotlight on the work of 10
independent European distributors.

European Film Promotion promotional events in 2007
European Film Promotion (EFP) brings together 27 organisations exporting and
promoting films from 28 different countries to support 8 different European
promotion activities taking place in various places throughout 2007.
These activities are: 1. Networking of European Operators and Professionals, as
well as Promotion and PR of European Films, talents and events;
2. Shooting stars (promotion of Europe new acting talents) at Berlin IFF
(Germany);
3. Touring Shooting Stars Film Programme at selected Festivals and events;
4. Producers on the Move at the Cannes IFF (France) in May with an average 22
promising European producers from 22 different European countries;
5. "Variety Critics' Choice: Europe Now" at the Karlovy Vary IFF (Czech
Republic) in July, where 10 European films and their talents will be presented
in a sub-section of the Festival;
6. Beyond borders. This new activity planned for 2007 consists in a screening of
European box-office hits in 3 different European cities (Paris, Madrid and
Berlin) between April and May.

European Film Promotion (EFP) brings together 27 organisations exporting and promoting films from 28 different countries. The EFP collaborates with different high-profile international festivals and markets to promote a diverse and ambitious programme of European films. Festivals: Berlinale, Locarno, Venice, San Sebastian, Hamburg, Buenos Aires, Cannes , Karlovy Vary International, Toronto, Pusan. Markets: American Film Market, Los Angeles International Film Market and the European Days in New York.
Above all, the EFP introduces new European film talent and opens doors to the international market. With its "Shooting Stars" at the Berlin Festival and its "Producers on the Moves" at Cannes, the EFP draws the attention of the international press and public to new European films and young talent.
Since 2004, the EFP has been running a new initiative funded by MEDIA Plus: Film Sales Support (FSS) offers grants to European sales agents to support their activities at festivals outside the EU.
