In addition to the numerous funding opportunities for the European audiovisual industry the MEDIA 2007 programme also seeks to ensure that the latest technologies and trends are taken up in support, in particular, of the objective of strengthening competitiveness in the framework of an open and competitive European market favourable to employment.

The programme may support pilot projects to ensure that the industry adapts to market developments, with a particular emphasis on the introduction and utilisation of information and communication technologies.
