What do the Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre, the Netherlands Embassy in Berlin and the Stansted Airport in London have in common? What are the special features of contemporary European architecture?
The interactive exhibition "Made in Europe" showcases a unique overview of the evolution of architecture in Europe over the past 25 years - since the beginning of the EU Prize for contemporary architecture/ Mies van der Rohe award to the present day.
The European Union Prize for contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award – now opens for the first time its archive to the public. With more than 2,500 projects and 200 models, this is Europe's biggest archive of contemporary architecture.
Hosted in the heart of Venice at Palazzo Michiel, the exhibition will open on 6 June as a collateral event at the Biennale di Venezia – a première in the history of the Prize- and will last until 4 August. Access will be free of charge.
The opening will include a press conference and a symposium on "European-ness porosity" with top European architects and journalists.
