CHINESE BRIDGE SUMMER CAMP FOR HUNGARIAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

In 2011, H.E. Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister of People’s Republic of China, paid a visit to Hungarian, and announced that China would invite 100 Hungarian high school students and teachers to visit China in 2012.
To implement this, Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters, in cooperation with Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources, Education Section of Chinese Embassy in Hungarian, Confucius Institutes at Eötvös Loránd University, will organize a two-week study trip, named Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for Hungarian High School Students between 30 June - 12 August 2012.
Chinese or English speaking students, having interests in Chinese culture and language, with aim to continue their Chinese language studies, can apply for the program.
During the trip, students will visit Beijing as well as Shanghai, Chongqing and Harbin to see the cultural and historical sites, to take part in lectures and workshops on Chinese culture, in subjects such as paper cutting, calligraphy, ink painting, Chinese knots or martial arts. Also, the trip includes a 20-hour language course with a final exam at the end.
The participants will also have the opportunity to meet Chinese students and their families to learn more about Chinese traditions, customs, cultural similarities and differences between the day to day lives of two nations.
