In 2011, to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Italian Unification, the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera invited its professors to create new works in different format and medium and produced a collection of 50 lithographs. The exhibition is a celebration of Italian identity and its tricolor flag. No matter how big their political differences could be, Italians share the same cultural root and same mission. This is the message that the exhibition intends to convey to the world and China. Most of the 50 lithographs on show, all created by professors of Milan's prestigious Academy of Fine Arts of Brera on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the Italian Unification, choose to use the three colors of Italy's flag - green, white and red - as their motif to illustrate in a poetic or polemic way the arduous path that led to Italy as an unified nation.
