On 29 and 30 September in Brussels the European Commission is organising the European Culture Forum.
This Forum will provide the first opportunity to review progress towards the goals of the European Agenda for Culture adopted in 2007.
The event is expected to gather 600-700 culture civil society operators and European, national and regional policy-makers. The programme is structured around the three strategic objectives of the Agenda for Culture:
- cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue
- culture as a catalyst for creativity
- culture as a vital element in the Union's international relations
On 28 September the "Culture in Motion" conference
, a closely linked event, will present projects funded by the Culture Programme, encouraging exchange of experience and good practice between cultural operators.
Both programmes can be found at http://cultureforum.teamwork.fr/
The European Commission can cover the travel costs of representatives of a number of culture sector bodies active in European cooperation which, without financial support, would be unable to participate in the Conference and the Forum.
If your organisation would like to apply for cover of travel costs, please complete the attached expression of interest [53 KB] and email as soon as possible, but at the latest by Friday 28 August to: firstname.lastname@example.org
By Friday 4 September, the Commission will inform all applicants of whether or not travel costs can be covered. In the case of successful applications, travel tickets (economy) will be reserved and paid for by the event organisers.
