The product poses a risk of damage to sight because it contains a Class 2 laser, and a chemical risk because the black plastic of the glasses contains more than 0.1% (38%) by weight of di-isononyl phthalate (DINP) plastified material and children could put the glasses into their mouths.

According to the REACH Regulation phthalates DEHP, DBP and BBP are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles, while phthalates DINP, DIDP and DNOP are prohibited in toys or childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth by children.

The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European Standard EN 62115.

Drowning

The product poses a risk of drowning because the operation of the distress button does not follow the ITU recommendations, the description in EN 301 025 or the description in the user manual. Instead of just lifting the lid and hold down the button for 3 seconds, the user needs to lift a lid and then press the button twice. This way of operation may not be clear for the user and might lead to a case where the user thinks he/she has sent an emergency signal, but actually has not.
