Corrigenda:
Notification 0336/07 of week 15 of year 2007 has been withdrawn on request of the notifying country until the risk assessment is clarified.

Notification 0361/06 of week 24 of year 2006 and notifications 0365/06 and 0366/06 of week 25 of year 2006 have been withdrawn because the risk posed by these products was moderate and thus the requirements for an Article 12 notification (serious risk) have not been met.

- the handlebar brakes after 40169 cycles in the anti-phase fatigue test;

- the fork breaks after 37022 cycles in the fatigue test;

- a permanent deformation of 23 mm is observed in the impact test involving dropping a weight on the frame-fork assembly whereas the permitted maximum is 20 mm;

- it is not possible to obtain the vertical load indicated in the standard (300 N) in the vertical and horizontal static test on the seat as the maximum load obtained is 268 N;

- it is not possible to obtain the load indicated in the standard (400 N) in the static traction test on the front and rear edges of the seat as the maximum load obtained is 275 N.

- it is not possible to obtain the load indicated in the standard (300 N) in the vertical and horizontal static test on the seat; the maximum load of 220N was achieved with difficulty and the seat deformed during the vertical load test;

- in the vertical and horizontal static test on the stabilisers, the longitudinal load test produced permanent deformations of 45 and 25 mm.

Injuries

The product poses a risk of injuries due to incorrect construction and openings in the access zone, where the fingers and the foot of a child could be entrapped. The product contains the following non-compliances with the relevant standard:

- in the access zones on the seat back, on the playing part, on the side and on front of the chair, there are accessible openings or holes from 7 mm to 25mm, where the fingers of a child can be entrapped although there should not be accessible gaps on the access zone according to the standard;

- a pin with cross-section of 7 mm goes into the holes;

- the playing part falls down using only 80 N of horizontal strength whereas the 200 N is required by the standard;

- chair falls down using 200 N vertical strength on the centre of the playing part although it should keep its stability when playing part is pulled out to side position;

- the instructions for use in Lithuanian are missing. One incident where a child of 8 month pushed the playing part to the side position has been reported.

Choking

The product poses a risk of choking because it fails the tensile strength test of the relevant European standard EN 1400-2. When the teat is pulled versus the ring along the major axis, the ring breaks at 84N (minimum limit 90N). Due to the nature of the ring material, it stretches for 83 seconds before it breaks, thereby creating small parts that could cause a baby to choke.

- there are no instructions for use.
