Fire In the vehicles concerned, an area containing insulation material is placed above the diesel particle filter. The diesel particle filter system automatically performs regeneration cycles in order to remove soot deposits from the filter. In this case the diesel particle filter can become so hot that the insulation material can ignite. This is theoretically possible even when the vehicle is parked. Three cases have been reported where insulation material and chassis parts were damaged during diagnosis by Ford dealers.

Choking The toy poses a serious risk of choking because where there is detachment of the battery compartment, critical parts are released (the battery lid, 3-pin plastic insert, screw, nut, battery compartment and three button cells batteries). The parts are considered to present a choking hazard:
- the battery compartment lid could cause direct obstruction of the airway, should it reach the rear of the oral cavity;
- the 3-pin plastic insert could become lodged in the oropharynx because of its shape, however it would be unlikely to prevent the flow of air;
- the screw and the button cell batteries are serious aspiration hazards. In particular if the button cells become lodged in the trachea they can cause complete obstruction of the airway or they can cause serious damage by electrical and chemical burns.
Detachment of the battery compartment is due to failure of attachment of the plastic insert by inadequate gluing.
This toy does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European standard.

Injuries This product poses a serious risk of injuries because these motorcycles were built with voltage regulator, P/N 74546-07 that, as a result of a greater body thickness than used in previous model years, may contact the front fender under certain conditions. In some cases this contact may allow the front fender to catch on the topside of the regulator body, which could impede the operator’s ability to steer the motorcycle. This could result in an accident, which could cause injury or death to the rider.

Enforcement is a top priority of the EU Consumer Policy Strategy 2007-2013. Both measures leading to RAPEX notifications and measures which come to the attention of the Commission and other Member States as reactionsare indications of enforcement activity in the Member State concerned.
In order to give a better view on the overall level of enforcement, including the follow-up activities of the national market surveillance authorities, the Commission RAPEX team has decided to publish on the RAPEX website also the names of the countries that have found the notified product on their market and have taken appropriate measures (and have submitted a reaction to a RAPEX notification as a consequence).
Information about the reacting countries is available in the RAPEX weekly overviews in the column 'Products were found and measures were taken also in'. The Commission RAPEX team will publish reactions sent (from May2009 onwards) to 2009 RAPEX notifications.
