Suffocation and injuries

This baby bathing/changing unit presents a serious risk of trapping various parts of a child's body and the risk of choking because:

- there are holes which permit entry of the 5 mm gauge with a force of less than 30 N, but not of the 12 mm gauge;

- there are holes which permit entry of the 25 mm gauge with a force of less than 30 N but do not permit entry of the 45 mm gauge;

- the gap remaining between the changing table (when open) and the edge of the bath permits entry of the 45 mm gauge with a force of less than 30 N and does not permit entry of the 65 mm gauge;

- the changing unit folds with a force of less than 200 N, with the consequent risk of injury to the child;

- during the test the plastic button on the underside of the changing table became detached with a traction force of less than 90 N, producing a small part which could give rise to choking.

This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 12221.

Fire and injury

The product poses a risk of:

- injury because it may suffer fuel loss due to rupture of the high pressure fuel pipe. This is due to the poor quality of the rubber used in the high pressure fuel pipe clamp. As a result, the engine may cut out while the vehicles are being driven on public highways and cause a traffic accident;

- fire because the fuel escaping from the supply line may end up being atomised at high pressure and once in contact with the hottest parts of the engine, such as the exhaust manifolds, could start a fire through ignition of the gaseous mix. This might affect other key systems of the car whose power supply derives from the running engine.
