Electric shock,
Burns

Possible overheating of the power strip may lead to a damage of a strip casing and consequently result in a electric shock and burns to the user. The power strip reaches high temperature exceeding the possible limits and therefore it can cause a risk of electric shock and burns to the user. In the Polish version of the user’s manual there was incorrect value of electric current charge for this type of power strip and expression “maximal direct current” was used instead of “maximal continuous current”.

This product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard.

Chemical

The compass contains a small amount of mineral oil of a low viscosity. It is attached on the jacket in a way that it is easy for a child to put the compass in the mouth. Viscosity of mineral oil is below 7 cSt (40°). A case were the oil was leaking from the compass when the child put the compass in his mouth (the compass was not broken) has been detected. Mineral oils of low viscosity can cause, even in low amounts, severe lung damage if swallowed, e.g. chemical pneumonia.

Injuries

There are numerous protrusions on the upper top bar of the bicycle. Moreover, the distance of a bike lever in two places is incorrect and amounts to 77 mm and 85 mm instead of 65 mm and 80 mm respectively. The difference of the height of a handlebar which amounts to 260 mm instead of 250 mm is also incorrect. Additionally, dimension of grips diameter or knobs diameter at the handlebar amounts to 33 mm instead of 40 mm, and the dimension of cantilever of a handlebar is 60 mm instead of 65 mm. The bicycle does not have turn limit in a handlebar. No maintenance/service manual is attached to the product.

Compulsory measures: Sales ban and withdrawal from the market ordered by the authority.

Injuries

The product poses a risk of accident and injury because increasing the strength required to turn the steering wheel increases the strength needed to control the direction of the vehicle, which may lead the driver to lose control of the car while it is moving. Since the permanent magnets are not properly attached to the power steering rotor, the engine gradually loses its torque when the steering wheel is turned full lock.

Voluntary measures: Voluntary corrective action taken by the importer.  

Compulsory measures: Sales ban ordered by the authorities.

This product also poses a chemical risk due to the migration of chrome and lead elements (the result is between one to three times more than the maximum value permitted by the Standard).

This product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European Standard EN 71 (parts 1, 3).

- the product is not fitted with a wick guard or cover although decorative oil lamps should be fitted with a wick guard that does not become detached, break or crack during testing to prevent access to the wick by small children; - in addition, the design of the lamp does not prevent the wick being contacted by the test probe.

- the schuko socket and plug insulation is not resistant to heating;

- the extension cord does not meet the minimum insulation gauge of green/yellow pole (earthing) and brown pole, minimum thickness of cable coating, insulation and coating breaking charge and cable resistance in alternating flexion;

- during fire test, the cable continued to spread flame even after 60 seconds which is the limit.

The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant standards.

During tension test specified in the standard EN 71-1:1998 small part became detached when applying a force less than 90 N and fitted entirely within the small parts cylinder. The toy does not bear the proper indication: „Warning! Not suitable for children under the age of 3 years. It contains small parts that can be easily inhaled and ingested.” This toy does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 71.

- fire due to the lack of important warning that the covering of the appliance is forbidden.
