- There is no differential fitted, causing operating problems for the driver and making overturning the bike more likely.

- The drive chain and sprocket is not guarded.

- There is a space next to the foot rest, causing a trapping hazard and the possibility of burns from the adjacent exhaust pipe.

- There are sharp edges on the bike.

- The fuel system was insecure in part.

- The bike seat was insecure.

- The construction of the bike was extremely poor, with poor quality welding, electrics, mounting bolts, braking and fuel systems.

Injuries,
Burns

This product poses a risk of injuries and burns because:

- There is insufficient guarding of the drive chain and sprocket.

- The steering mechanism does not have free movement as it contacts the fairing.

- The electrical wiring harness was situated next to the fuel tank and did not have adequate insulation causing a potential fire hazard. The battery was also insecure and was not properly insulated.

- The braking system had no reserve travel and the operating cable for the rear brake was insecure and could foul the rear tyre.

- The fuel and vent pipes were incorrectly fitted and were fouling the machine.

- The rear suspension was inadequately welded in parts which would result in the failure of vital components.

- There are inadequate mudguards.

- There is no evident speed limiting device or stop button.

Conclusions: This machine is extremely dangerous to operate and is likely to cause injury to rider and to any other persons in the vicinity of the machine.

Compulsory measures: Suspension of sale ordered by the authority.

This skateboard poses a risk of fire because:

- The rear tyre contacts the fuel tank and hot exhaust gasses are being directed onto the plastic fuel tank. - The fuel pipe and vent pipe were both insecure and fouling other parts of the skateboard.

- There was no direct mechanical steering control by the operator.

Compulsory measures: The machine was seized for testing. The skateboard was signed over to the local authority by the owner for disposal.

Tested eyeliners contained N-nitrosodiethanolamine (NDELA) at levels of 142, 206 and 84 µg/kg respectively.

According to the Cosmetics Regulation nitrosamines are permitted in cosmetic matrixes only as technically unavoidable residue at levels that do not pose a risk to health.

The substance is placed on the list of banned substances (Annex I, rank number 410) on basis of its carcino-genic properties.

Voluntary measures: Voluntary withdrawal from the market by the distributor. Placing on the market prohibited by the authorities.

The laboratory tests revealed that the elastic material used as the impact area (suction cup) can be removed under traction of less than 60 Newtons. If the suction cup is removed, this product may pose a risk of injury.
