Risk of injury, burns and fire. Due to various safety hazards presented by the product, it is extremely dangerous to operate and is likely to cause injury to the rider and to any other persons in the vicinity of the machine.

In particular, it poses a risk of catching body parts/clothing in moving chain/sprocket, burns from exhaust and inhalation and/or fire from vapours from the fuel tank because:

-the drive chain and sprocket are not sufficiently guarded

– frontal chain guard that is fitted is insufficient and also has sharp edges;

-the exhaust is insufficiently shielded posing a risk of burns;

-there is no speed-limiting device or a re-set on the engine stop;

-the way the fuel tank is vented causes the rider to inhale petrol fumes and poses a potential fire hazard if the rider of anyone nearby is smoking near the tank cap during the venting process;

-there is a risk of fouling fuel supply pipe;

-the rear brake assembly is not correctly secured and locked together.

Voluntary measures: Voluntary recall by the supplier.  

Compulsory measures: Sales ban ordered by the authority.

Risk of Injury to the eyes.

- The kinetic energy of the missiles (0,112 joule) is higher than allowed (upper permissible limit: 0,08 joule).

- The warning in Greek "ATTENTION! Small parts. Not suitable for children under the age of 3 years" is missing, which comes in contradiction with the indicating: "Not suitable for children of 14 years", written on the package in English.

This product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European Standards.

Compulsory measures: Withdrawal from the market ordered by the authority. A press release has been issued.

Risk of damage to hearing. The horns are considered to be dangerous, as the values determined exceed: - the peak sound pressure of 200 Pa, i.e. 140 dB(C), laid down in Directive 2003/10/EC on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (noise) [in this case, at a distance of 10 cm: 155.2 dB(C)] and - the value of 125 dB(C) stipulated in the Toys Standard EN 71, [in this case, at a distance of 50 cm: approximately 141 dB(C)].

Voluntary measures: Voluntary withdrawal from the market by retailer. Products withdrawn and modified by the manufacturer (yellow marking) have a sound pressure level of only LpCpeak 119 dB at a distance of 50 cm.

Risk of injury. In a centrifugal test, the cutting discs failed well below the minimum fracture speed of 150 m/sec prescribed by the relevant standard EN 12413. Cracks radiating from the metal ring are apparent on the front of the disc. In addition, the product suffered from incorrect labelling.

Risk of allergy. The presence of Nickel in products which are in immediate and prolonged contact with skin can cause sensitization and allergic reactions. The Chemical State Laboratory examined the earrings and the results showed that the migration of Nickel was 18.9 μg/cm2 per week, while the upper allowed limit is 0.2μg/cm2 per week. The method used was based on the standard ELOT EN 1811.

Risk of burns and fire. Products pose a danger to small children (the lighter shapes comply with the definition of the novelty lighters in accordance with EN 13869) because they can attract children younger than 51 months of age, which leads to an increased risk of burns or fire.

Risk of fire. Overheating of electrical "hot spots" due to potential incorrect wiring of the fuse holder. The failure could occur when using the bow thrusters, particularly if the bow thruster is engaged for a long period of time, outside the manufacturers operating parameters. 3 boats have been identified as having the failure mode of overheating. One of these boats had fire damage, which may have been related to the identified hazard.

The electric discharge may be harmful to particularly susceptible persons or those wearing pacemakers. The products do not contain user warnings.

These toys do not comply with the EU legislation and the relevant European Standards.

Risk of injuries. Risk of excessive brake pedal travel and loss of braking efficiency. Analysis showed one case where the brake pedal system lock was not in place. No other case reported.
