Risk of explosion. Results of tests are not available yet. One incident reported. User primed the flare and when ignited the flare exploded. The handle fired backwards into the abdomen of the user.

Description: Lithium ion rechargeable battery packs for various HP and Compaq Notebook computers. All potentially affected packs have a date code starting with L3. The date code is embedded in a code printed on an adhesive label affixed to the inner surface of the battery pack.

Risk of burns, cuts, contusion and fire. The simultaneous occurrence of two occasional and independent defects internal to the battery pack can over time lead to some of the battery cells overcharging, which in turn may cause them to overheat and melt, char or breach the plastic case, posing a risk of burns, cuts, contusion and/or fire hazard.

Voluntary measures: Voluntary recall of the product by the producer.

Risk of injury. The pivoting part of the handle has broken on at least three strollers. The broken handles where made from Nylon 6 instead of Nylon 66 which was ordered. At least three accidents have happened. These concerns 1000 strollers sold in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Oslo. The correct handles can be identified by three dots on the handlebar.

Electric shock

The product poses a risk of electric shock due to:-insufficient fixing of the supply cord, with the possibility of wearing by usage;

-higher than allowed increase of temperature of the inner wiring posing a risk of overheating.

The product does not comply with the LVD and the relevant European Standard 60335 on 18 check points.

Compulsory measures: Withdrawal of the product from the market ordered by the authority.

Enforcement is a top priority of the EU Consumer Policy Strategy 2007-2013. Both measures leading to RAPEX notifications and measures which come to the attention of the Commission and other Member States as reactionsare indications of enforcement activity in the Member State concerned.

In order to give a better view on the overall level of enforcement, including the follow-up activities of the national market surveillance authorities, the Commission RAPEX team has decided to publish on the RAPEX website also the names of the countries that have found the notified product on their market and have taken appropriate measures (and have submitted a reaction to a RAPEX notification as a consequence).

Information about the reacting countries is available in the RAPEX weekly overviews in the column 'Products were found and measures were taken also in'. The Commission RAPEX team will publish reactions sent (from May2009 onwards) to 2009 RAPEX notifications.
